In July and August 1995, I lived in a tent on the Morant Cays coral atoll, some forty miles off the south east coast of Jamaica.

I was one of a diving party conducting a scientific survey of the fish and coral communities around the reef.

Loggerhead turtles nested on the island with Brown Noddy Terns and Frigate birds. The seas teamed  with every kind of tropical fish you could wish to see and I cut my teeth painting underwater with oil bars in the azure blue waters of the Caribbean.
